01What is TopSteel?+
TopSteel publishes two products for steel construction. The 3D configurator lets you configure a building or a structure and immediately get its weight, quantities and price. The ERP/MES then covers the whole chain: quotes, purchasing, stock, workshop, site and invoicing.
02Who is TopSteel for?+
Small and mid-sized structural steelwork companies: steel fabricators, industrial and agricultural building contractors, steel construction firms. Metalworkers also get value from it on configurable items.
03Can I take the configurator without the ERP?+
Yes. The two offers are independent: many companies start with the configurator to speed up quoting and only add the ERP later. The reverse works too. Put end to end, the configurator feeds the ERP directly and the bill of materials is entered only once.
04Does TopSteel replace a CAD package such as Tekla or Advance Steel?+
No, and that is not its purpose. The 3D configurator is built to configure and price quickly. It covers early design and costing; the project can then be sent to the engineering office for detailed design and the required approvals before fabrication.
05Where is my data hosted?+
In France, on secure servers. TopSteel is GDPR-compliant and encrypts data in transit and at rest (SSL/TLS).
06Does TopSteel help with EN 1090?+
On the record-keeping side, yes. The ERP maintains material traceability (certificates, heat numbers), welding qualifications and their expiry dates, the execution class per job, inspections and non-conformities, then gathers the file job by job. It does not issue certification: that remains your own process with your notified body.

TopSteel is designed and developed by Oweo, a French publisher of management and business software. The project evolves through close dialogue with steel construction professionals and their working methods, from estimating to project tracking.
